Waste - opportunities and best practice

Full Day Seminar

No. 4 Hamilton Place, London, W1J 7BQ

Waste is now big business and is set to grow with increasing constraints and challenges in the next few years. Last year saw western Europe’s largest waste contract let for Greater Manchester – after 2 years of negotiation. It is worth £3.8bn and was supported by the Treasury’s Infrastructure Finance Unit. Further large projects are being planned.

Other areas of interest include significant challenges in disposal of nuclear waste, growth in waste-to-energy plants and Thames Waters’ plan for its Tideway Tunnels along the route of the Thames at an estimated cost of £2bn.
In many ways the UK leads this sector and member’s organisations will want to be positioned to contribute to these demanding solutions both in the UK and overseas.
