Rising Stars
Egrove Park, Oxford, OX1 5NYThe seminar for ‘Rising Stars’ will be held twice next year at Egrove Park, (formerly called Templeton College), Oxford. Each seminar is held over two days and there will be two parts to this event. Part 1 of the first seminar commences at 11.00 am on Monday 31st and concludes on the afternoon of Tuesday 1st February. The second seminar, Part 1 commences at 11.00 am on Wednesday 2nd and concludes on the afternoon of Thursday 3rd February 2011.
The objectives of Part 1 of these seminars are to benefit those who attend by:
1. Helping them to analyse key issues currently affecting major projects, major project businesses and people in major project businesses - in their own organisations and around them.
2. Introducing them to the attitudes and ways of thinking in other companies working in the major projects field.
3. Giving them practice in establishing effective relationships with potential clients and with other professionals.
4. Giving them practice in marshalling their opinions and presenting them to a peer group.
5. Establishing a network of contacts with potential high flyers in other MPA member organisations and knowledge of the resources and activities of those organisations.
6. Building the business confidence of those who attend.
As these are very popular seminars and to give as many of our members as possible an opportunity to take part, we have decided to offer one place to each member organisation, subject to availability. These places must be taken up by Friday 17th December. Because demand for these seminars is expected to be heavy, we advise you to register nominations promptly. We only have 24 places to offer on each seminar.
Unlike the usual MPA seminars, in order to achieve these objectives, the attendees do most of the work themselves. Mr Malcolm Noyce, Executive Director of the MPA will lead the seminars. All participants will stay overnight at the venue, there will be a guest speaker in the evening and the event will resume early the following day.
Please select your nominated person and complete and return the enclosed registration form by 17 December. We are not imposing any selection criteria. Members should select people to attend whom they expect to reach high level positions in their businesses.
As the 'Rising Stars' seminars are an integral part of the MPA programme of events for members, there is no charge for attendance.
Part 2 will be a follow-up afternoon session six months after Part 1, this will be held on Monday 13th June 2011 – more details to follow.
