Sir Peter is a British business man, former senior civil servant and is currently chairman of National Grid plc and the Aircraft Carrier Alliance.
He has held senior executive positions in the UK computer, telecommunications and defence industries as well as being the first chief executive of the Office of Government Commerce. Sir Peter has both managed projects and had extensive experience of leading organisations involving large complex projects and programmes.
He was educated at Reigate Grammar School and Cambridge University.
Sir Peter is an Honorary Fellow of the Association for Project Management and the Institution of Engineering and Technology. He was awarded the CBE in 2000 for services to the Defence Industry and knighted in 2004 for his work on public procurement.
This event provides an ideal opportunity to hear Sir Tim Laurence, Chairman, Major Projects Association interview Sir Peter Gershon CBE FREng on key opportunities and challenges facing the world of major projects. This will lead into questions from the floor. Followed by dinner.
